Segun Arinze to direct Best of Nollywood Awards

Former President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Segun Arinze, will direct the proceedings at the Best of Nollywood Awards 2015 event, scheduled to hold in Akure, capital of Ondo State

in December.

Announcing the appointment of the seasoned actor as the artistic director of the awards event on Monday in Lagos, the executive producer, Seun Oloketuyi, said, “The choice of Segun Arinze is predicated on the fact that we promised that this year’s event will surpass the previous editions in all ramifications. We are counting on his experience as an actor and organiser, as well as his image in the film industry, to help us ensure that we have a BON awards to

 remember. We look forward to having a good time working with him.”Responding to the gesture, Arinze thanked the organisers of the awards event for deeming it fit to appoint him, ahead of other equally competent actors. He promised to bring his expertise and experience to bear on the event, as well as to improve the artistic and technical standards of the awards.

“With a profound sense of duty, I accept the gesture of the organizers of BON awards in appointing me as the artistic director for the 2015 edition of the event. The BON awards is dear to me because it is a homegrown reward platform for Nigerian actors and that was one of the reasons I accepted to join the train that was in Akure, Ondo State recently for the unveiling of the host state,” Arinze said.
